After consultation with the Executive Board, World Triathlon President Marisol Casado has appointed Debbie Alexander from South Africa as the first Vice President of the organization. This decision was taken in the first meeting since the elections of the newly formed Executive Board and was supported by all board members.

Alexander has been serving on the board for eight years and is also President of Triathlon South Africa, Vice President of Triathlon Africa and a member of the International Paralympic Committee Governing Board.

Casado also appointed Japan’s Shin Otsuka as the organization’s Financial & Marketing Vice President, also with the support of the Board. Otsuka has been a member of the World Triathlon Executive Board since 2004, and was elected as Vice President in November.
