“Given the depth of talent in all the teams, the Captain’s Picks were very difficult to make”, Charles Adamo, Executive Chairman of the Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO), commented on the Collins Cup’ Captain’s Pick that has just been released. “With four tremendous world-class athletes added to the already automatically qualified athletes in each team, the 2021 Collins Cup will have a truly unprecedented field and the stage is set for some fierce competition.”

It was just announced that Mark Allen and Karen Symers – Team US Captains – decided on Katie Zaferes, Taylor Knibb, Chris Leiferman and Justin Metzler to join their team of automatic qualifiers in Samorin. Team International captains Lisa Bentley (CAN) and Simon Whitfield (CAN) welcome Ellie Salthouse (AUS), Jackson Laundry (CAN), Sarah Crowley (AUS) and Kyle Smith (NZL) on board. For Team Europe, Kat Matthews (GBR), Emma Pallant (GBR), Sebastian Kienle (GER) and Daniel Baekkegard (DEN) received an invitation from their captains: Natascha Badmann (CHE) and Normann Stadler (GER).

With these big names added to the list, it promises to be an exciting battle in Samorin, Slovakia, on Aug. 28, 2021. Earlier this week, the PTO already announced the automatic qualifiers.
