A couple of the sport’s top half-distance athletes will stay on the same bikes that helped them to some top performances last year. Ellie Salthouse, who enjoyed a stellar season that included seven wins, announced today that she’s extended her deal with Trek for another two years.

“Looking forward to testing out my brand new speed concept on the @hotwtri (Hell of the West) racecourse come February,” the Australian wrote in an Instagram post in which she announced the two-year extension. Salthouse won the Hell of the West event last year.

Another athlete who competed at the Collins Cup last year, Emma Pallant-Brown, also announced a contract extension today.

“Looking forward to another year of Shiv-ing it up!” Pallant-Brown wrote on Instagram. “Changing nothing on this super bike going into 2022.”

It makes sense that the British star wouldn’t want to change much up after her impressive 2021 season. She had three half-distance wins to go along with an Olympic-distance win at the Free State Triathlon in March. Add to that a third-place overall finish at the Collins Cup and a fifth-place finish at the 70.3 worlds. Pallant-Brown ended the year sixth in the PTO World Ranking.
