“A little check in from Captain Goofy himself”, America’s Sam Long wrote on Instagram. “Excited to announce my first two races of the year”, he continues in his comment under his latest video, where Long announces to be racing Challenge Puerto Varas and Clash Miami as his first two races of the year.

“I’m especially excited to make a trip down to the beautiful country of Chile and connect with the stellar fans down there”, Long says about the inaugural Challenge Puerto Varas, which takes place on Mar. 20, 2022. That is one week after Clash Miami (Mar. 13, 2022).

Long is busy getting ready to rock his next Middle Distance, after some relatively easier weeks, the first hard test session was on the schedule again. 15.1 miles (ca. 24 km) with a five-mile effort (ca. 8 km) of 5:19 min/mile (ca. 3:18 min/km).

“Seven weeks away from the first race, so it’s time to jump start that fitness. I can feel like: there is no racing, and suddenly it’s seven weeks away. I’ve got my first track session in a while today. It’s a test set. It’s 5 miles (ca. 8 km) running at a 150 bpm to see if I’ve aerobically progressed”, Long said before his track run.
