Swiss Side announces team roster for 2022

With a list that already includes some of the world’s premier long-distance athletes, including two-time Kona champion Patrick Lange, Swiss Side has added some more big names to its roster for 2022. New athletes who will be racing on Swiss Side wheels in 2021 include last year’s Ironman Austria champion Denis Chevrot (FRA), the runner up at Ironman Mallorca in 2021, Justine Mathieux (FRA), Ironman Lake Placid champion, Rasmus Svenningsson (SWE) and seventh-place finisher at the Tokyo Olympics last year, Andrea Salvisberg (SUI).

In addition to Lange, who had impressive wins at Ironman Tulsa and Challenge Roth last year, other returning athletes include rising Ironman sensation and Ironman European champion, Laura Philipp (GER), three-time Ironman Switzerland champion, Jan van Berkel (SUI), 2019 Challenge Roth champ Andreas Dreitz (GER), four-time Ironman and Challenge Roth champion Daniela Bleymehl (GER), Olympic silver medalist and 2021 Ironman Lake Placid winner Lisa Norden (SWE), Yvan Jarrige (FRA), Tokyo Olympian Badreddin Was (SYR) and European junior championHenry Graf (GER). Swiss Side also sponsors the Erdinger Alkoholfrei Perspective Team.

The company has a background in Formula 1 racing – its founder, Jean-Paul Ballard, spent 14 years as the lead engineer for the Sauber team before turning his sights on cycling in 2014. Since then the Swiss Side has been heavily involved with both designing wheels and testing products. Swiss Side was involved with the design of the DT Swiss Dicut wheels, and also have a partnership with Cube, having helped the company develop it’s C:68 model.
