Odyssey Triathlon: a completely new Long Distance race in United Kingdom

Active Training World (ATW) has launched the Odyssey Triathlon, a new Long Distance triathlon… ‘with promise of a unique customer-spectator experience.’

The new Long Distance triathlon will be held at Regatta Meadow, St Neots, southern England, on July 15th, 2023. The event starts with a 3.8km swim in the River Ouse, followed by a 180km bike in the Cambridgeshire countryside, finishing with a 42.2km marathon run around the parks lining the river. There will also be an Aquabike race option, which involves just the swim and bike sections.

Acccording to ATW… ‘This unique event is more than just a triathlon. As the name suggests, the Odyssey is a journey of self-discovery with participants overcoming personal challenges along the way to the finish line.’

The Odyssey has been designed to provide an exclusive spectator support experience with a fan zone on the bike course, located at the Snooty Tavern pub with entertainment and hospitality. There will be a cheer station situated inside a beer-tent on the run course… ‘positioned to give maximum cheers.’

For those with families, there will be a children’s entertainment zone to keep the young ones entertained.

Mike Jubb, Head of Events at ATW, said “We love coming to St Neots. The park is a beautiful location and is a perfect venue for hosting a triathlon. We can’t wait to bring this amazing sporting experience to both the athletes and spectators alike.”

James Shipley, Managing Director of ATW, added “This event looks so inspiring, I’m actually going to take part myself. I can’t wait to toe the line at St Neots in July next year.”
