Noosa Triathlon prepares for a race with world-class athletes

It’s one of the biggest Olympic Distance races in the world – and probably even the biggest non-drafting Olympic Distance race – and this Saturday night (European time, ed.) it’s going to be epic all over again at the Noosa Triathlon. Both the men’s and women’s races will feature a star field to say the least.

The race is about 1500 meters of swimming, 40 kilometers of biking and 10 kilometers of running and attracts athletes who are specialized in the Middle Distance as well as the Short Distance. Biggest favorite in the women’s race may be Ashleigh Gentle, but she can expect competition from the likes of Natalie van Coevorden, Amelia Watkinson, Fenella Langridge and Sarah Crowley, among others. For sure we can count on a race with insane speeds and beautiful battles.

The same goed for the men’s race, in which Hayden Wilde seems the biggest favorite for victory: the Short Distance specialist is in full preparation for next year’s Paris Olympics. Wilde will take on Matt Hauser, Charlie Quinn, Jake Birtwhistle, Henri Schoeman and Jamie Riddle, among others.

You can watch the race – which starts Saturday (November 4) 9pm CET – here.
