Matt Hanson is one of the fastest running triathletes in the pro field and regularly decides races in his favor during the run. Last weekend he ran a single marathon – the California International Marathon – and showed once again how much he excels at running. He finished the race in a spectacular 2:22:57.

With that time, Hanson finished 83rd out of 9216 participants. The race was won by CJ Albertson, who crossed the finish line after 2:11:09. Hanson ran the first 21 kilometers considerably faster (1:08:45) in comparison to the second half, but thus still crossed the finish line in the stunning time of 2:22:57.

Before the race Hanson said: “Quite a bit different than the normal pre-race equipment check. As ready as I’m going to get for tomorrow’s CIM marathon. I haven’t felt like this much of a noob in a long time! Looking forward to one more go in 2023!”
