Ironman is excited to announce the continuation of the IM Pro Series in 2025, building on the success of its inaugural year. The performance-based world series will continue to showcase and reward the world’s top professional triathletes as they vie for points and event prize money towards the title of IM Pro Series champion and their share of $1.7 million USD in year-end bonus pool payouts. In its first year (to date), the IM Pro Series has seen a global audience of over five million live stream views.
The 2025 IM Pro Series will be contested over 18 events and 17 race locations, including a combination of six Ironman and eight Ironman 70.3 triathlons from around the globe as well as the IM World Championship women’s and men’s races and IM 70.3 World Championship triathlon.
The 2025 schedule will see seven new race venues added to the calendar, including the Ironman 70.3 Geelong triathlon in Australia, which will kick off the season in March, followed by the first IM Pro Series race in South Africa with the IM South Africa African Championship race. In addition to the Ironman 70.3 World Championship triathlon in Marbella, there are three other IM 70.3 triathlons in Europe added to the schedule with the IM 70.3 Venice-Jesolo and IM 70.3 Aix-en-Provence races, both taking place in May, and the IM 70.3 Swansea triathlon, the first IM Pro Series race to take place on UK soil, happening in July. The series will also take a new stop in Maryland with the Ironman 70.3 Eagleman triathlon in June.
All Ironman Pro Series races will be broadcast for free across multiple platforms for viewers around the world. Viewers in the United States and Canada can watch the coverage unfold exclusively on Outside TV, and international audiences can tune in across multiple platforms, including proseries.ironman.com, DAZN, and L’Equipe in France. On-demand playback will also be available through Outside+.
Athletes and fans can also look forward to the return of some of the favorite races from this year, including the Ironman 70.3 Oceanside, IM Cairns, IM Hamburg European Championship and Ironman Frankfurt European Championship triathlons, with all races to be broadcast live and free to a global audience.
“The feedback from athletes, fans, partners, and the wider triathlon community to the inaugural season of the Ironman Pro Series has been overwhelmingly positive and we are excited to continue with the series in 2025,” said Scott DeRue, CEO of The IM Group. “The 2025 schedule has seven new host cities and has been designed to provide athletes with racing opportunities that are more evenly distributed geographically throughout the year. With the 2025 IM Pro Series locked in, we hope that athletes can look forward to their next year of racing with excitement and begin planning their 2025 race schedule.”
Professional athlete Jackie Hering (USA), who is currently atop of the IM Pro Series leaderboard, commented: “I’m super excited to hear that it is going to continue in 2025. The IM Pro Series I think offers us pros a real clarity on races to choose and how to design our season, if the series is something we are going after. For me, at this point it will load me full of motivation and excitement to know exactly what races I’m going to target for next year.”
The end-of-year IM Pro Series bonus prize pool will continue to pay out $1.7 million USD, with an additional $2.5 million in event prize money to be earned at individual races.
