His full Ironman debut didn’t go exactly to plan when Jelle Geens was forced to pull out after thirty kilometers of running at Ironman Texas. However, the Belgian – and multiple 70.3 World Champion – has since thoroughly analyzed what went wrong, learning from the potentially too-aggressive pace during the early kilometers of the marathon. His goal remains unchanged: to compete in the Ironman World Championship in Kona for the first time this year.
