Danish triathlete Emil Holm stormed to victory at Ironman 70.3 Poznan, claiming the title with a commanding performance from start to finish. Holm, who also won in Poznan back in 2024, controlled the race from the water and never looked back, leaving the rest of the field to battle for the remaining podium spots.

Holm set the tone early in the swim, exiting the water first in 22:25, closely followed by Polish athletes Michal Oliwa and Mateusz Gluszkowski. A large chase pack, led by Dutch athlete Dorian Horsten, followed 46 seconds behind the leader.

Once on the bike, Holm immediately pushed the pace, dropping his Polish companions to forge a solo lead. Demonstrating remarkable power on two wheels, the Dane continuously stretched his advantage. By the halfway mark, he held a two-minute lead over a chasing trio consisting of Germany’s Janne Büttel, Oliwa, and Horsten. Despite concerted efforts from the pursuers to close the gap, Holm remained out of reach.

Entering T2, Holm maintained a solid two-minute buffer over Büttel, who had managed to pull away from the rest of the chasing group. On the half marathon, Holm continued his dominant run, steadily expanding his lead and cruising unchallenged toward the finish line. He took the win in an impressive time of 3:34:34.

Behind him, the battle for the podium provided plenty of drama. Germany’s Leonard Arnold executed a phenomenal run strategy. Starting the run in sixth place out of T2, Arnold surged through the field during the 21.1 kilometers to storm into second place, securing the silver medal in 3:37:19. Janne Büttel held strong after his solid bike leg to complete the podium, taking third place in 3:38:36.

The women’s race was won by Polish Agnieszka Gadomska, who finished in 4:05:41. Jenny Jendryschik finished second in 4:09:01 and Carolin Meyer finished third in 4:10:35.
