Switzerland’s Max Studer clearly feels right at home in Asia: after several victories on the world’s largest continent, he has now added the World Triathlon Cup Beijing to his resume. Studer simply proved dominant during the final ten-kilometer run.

In the past year and a half alone, Studer has won Ironman 70.3 Shanghai, WTCS Weihai, the World Triathlon Cup Miyazaki, and – just last August – WTCS Weihai once again. It is testament to the impressive form the Swiss athlete consistently finds in Asia. Today was no exception in a race that, while perhaps lacking the biggest big-name stars, unfolded into an exciting battle under rainy conditions.

That battle reached its climax during the final ten-kilometer run, where Studer turned out to be decisively the fastest with a run split of exactly 30:00. As a result, Studer claimed the overall victory in a total time of 1:48:22. China’s Xirui Zhang took second place in 1:48:31, while Spain’s Alberto Gonzalez Garcia finished third in 1:48:39.
