He had to wait a long time for it, but Alex Yee has finally claimed his first victory of the 2026 season: the British Olympic Champion has just won the World Triathlon Cup Rome.
Yee thereby confirms the form he already showed last week during the WTCS Grand Final in Pontevedra, where he posted the fastest run split ever on an Olympic Distance, but had to settle for third place. Today, Yee was once again particularly strong and left no doubt about who was best. In the race over the Sprint Distance, Yee crossed the finish line after 53:48 to secure the victory. Two Frenchmen took silver and bronze: Martin Hubner finished second in 54:13 and Tristan Douché finished third in 54:13.
In the women’s race, victory went to Russia’s Diana Isakova, who claimed the win after 59:13, finishing just one second ahead of Tilda Månsson (59:14). America’s Taylor Spivey finished third in 59:29.
