Under the banner, ‘Always Better Together’, Challenge Taiwan is preparing for its 10th anniversary. On April 23, the event, billed as ‘Asia’s largest triathlon’, will take place with over 7,000 participants expected over both the middle and long distance, as well as numerous side events.
Challenge Taiwan will take place in Taitung, ‘the home of the sun’. The triathlon festival features side events, including the popular Junior Challenge.
As Challenge Taiwan celebrates its 10th anniversary, in Mandarin Chinese, the organisers note that ‘Ten years old’ sounds like ‘Glean the grain’. With this in mind, an image of a bumper harvest of rice ears have been combined with this year’s event slogan, ‘Always Better Together’.
Jovi Lo, CEO of Challenge Family Asia Pacific, said “The belief in caring, devoting, accompanying loved ones, and working together to face challenges has enabled us to achieve Challenge Taiwan’s unique triathlete spirit.
“With this powerful strength, the Challenge Taiwan 10th anniversary sees us celebrate the extraordinary achievements we have achieved together. Welcome to all the triathletes joining the celebration.”
The event’s swim takes place in Flowing Lake. On the bike, athletes ride through the lofty Carp Mountains and along the Pacific coastline. The run course will combine Taitung City centre with the surrounding countryside.
