He was really looking forward to his participation in Ironman 70.3 Langkawi – which takes place tonight, European time – but Jelle Geens is forced to withdraw from the start list. During one of his last test swims he was stung by a jellyfish, causing him allergic reactions.
“I sadly have to withdraw from 70.3 Langkawi tomorrow. I got stung by a jellyfish this morning on a swim in the ocean and got a severe allergic reaction to it. Very bumped as I was super stoked to race.”
Geens was hoping to qualify at IM 70.3 Langkawi for next year’s Ironman 70.3 World Championships.
