1:01:01: that’s the time American elite athlete Morgan Pearson needed for his half marathon in Houston this weekend. With that time, he not only improved his personal best, but also shows that he is more than ready for the upcoming season.
Pearson’s lightning-fast time is all the more impressive considering that Pearson specializes in the short distance – Olympic Distance and Sprint Distance. Pearson earlier won two Olympic triathlon medals with the U.S. Mixed Relay Team.
With his time of 1:01:01, Pearson shaved seven seconds off his personal best, which he set in Valencia last year. He finished fifteenth with it in Houston. Pearson himself was not entirely satisfied with his performance though; he speaks of a “medium result” and he also says he had hoped for more. “But my legs just weren’t there,” he said
