French athlete Emile Blondel-Hermant has solidified his title as Mr. Alpe d’Huez, claiming his third consecutive victory at the prestigious Alpe d’Huez Duathlon. Held on home soil, the event attracted a strong field, but Blondel-Hermant proved untouchable once again.
The race format included a 6.5 km run through Bourg d’Oisans, a 15 km bike ascent up the legendary Alpe d’Huez climb, followed by a 5.5 km run at the summit. Blondel-Hermant crossed the finish line in 1:27:43, delivering a dominant performance.
It was a clean sweep for the French on the men’s podium, with Baptise Domanico finishing second in 1:29:58 and Fabien Holbach securing third in 1:30:51.
The women’s race also saw a French podium lockout. Emma Wasser took a commanding win in 1:42:49, well ahead of Margaux Bontant (1:51:58) and Cyriane Muller (1:53:15).
Upcoming Wednesday the Alpe d’Huez Triathlon (Long Distance) takes place.
