My love for the little man is incredible.” With those heartfelt words, Jonathan Brownlee announced that he has become a father – a life change that, by the sound of it, is already reshaping his world.
Freddie Barney Brownlee was born at 36 weeks, arriving quite early. Fortunately, Brownlee made it back just in time from Supertri Toulouse- where he had still been competing – to welcome his newborn son. “I got back just in time, though not quite in time to scrub the race numbers off my arms,” he joked. “I made it back from Toulouse just in time – but not enough to take my race numbers off.”
Freddie Barney spent his first ten days in the hospital due to jaundice, an experience that deepened Jonathan’s admiration for medical staff. “So much respect for the midwives, nurses and doctors – just incredible and so supportive”
