Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote took place for the second time at its new venue in Playa Blanca – the first edition in 2019 unfortunately saw the swim cancelled, but today’s race included all three legs and two very impressive champions – defending Ironman world champion Anne Haug took the women’s title, while Daniel Baekkegard won the men’s race.
Considered one of the toughest Ironman 70.3 courses thanks to the 1,200 m of climbing on the bike and the 300 m of altitude gain on the run, not to mention the always-tough Lanzarote winds, this year’s race lived up to its tough billing. Here are some photos from today’s racing:
