Yesterday we reported on the cancellation of the much-anticipated pro men’s race at Ironman California that was to feature the duel between Jan Frodeno and Gustav Iden. Today we’ve learned that the pro men who were registered for the race in California will have the chance to compete at Ironman Florida in a couple of weeks. Originally the race in California was to be a pro men’s event, while the race in Florida was designated a pro women’s race.
Norway’s Iden, the two-time defending Ironman 70.3 world champion, was to make his full-distance debut in Sacramento at Ironman California – he announced on Instagram earlier today that he will be competing in Florida.
