After a complete cancellation of the event in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Challenge Roth participants will once again need to be patient. The organization just announced that the event will be postponed to later this season. Challenge Roth – considered one of the biggest long distance triathlons in the world – was meant to take place on Jul. 4, but will be postponed to Sep. 5, 2021. The organization hopes this increases the chances for the event to be held considering the COVID-19 situation.

“We have decided to postpone the race by two months until Sept. 5, 2021,” Challenge Roth writes in a press release. “This significantly increases the chances of your dreams coming true this year despite all the uncertainties, because as you know: dreams cannot be cancelled! Currently, many of you are behind in swim training. The vaccinations will also take some time to roll out. We therefore believe a later race date gives us the greatest chance to make Challenge dreams come true this year”.
