After last year’s inaugural Super League Triathlon (SLT) Arena Games in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, this year SLT returns with two Arena Games events: Rotterdam and London. Those who enjoyed watching the epic race last time won’t need to wait long to see top triathletes battle each other over the extremely short distances again because on Mar. 27, 2021, the Arena Games are set to take place in London and one month later in Rotterdam (Apr. 18, 2021).

Athletes will be swimming 200 m in an Olympic pool, before hopping on a stationary bike to ride 4 km in the virtual world of Zwift. They finish with a 1 km run on a self-propelled treadmill. At least that’s what the first stage will look like – over the three stages the order of the legs will be shuffled.

Last year the event attracted a wide online audience with over 600.000 people checking the livestream. This year SLT will again broadcast the race for free.

Some of the world’s best athletes have already confirmed they will be battling at the Arena Games in London this year, including British triathletes Alex Yee, Georgia Taylor-Brown and Jonathan Brownlee.

“We are continuing to grow the SLT Arena Games Powered by Zwift and make it part of Super League’s yearly offering of exciting professional triathlon,” SLT CEO Michael D’Hulst said in a press release. “Bringing an event to London is a big step for Super League and in line with our objectives for 2021 as we look to grow rapidly into key triathlon markets. We are also delighted to return to Rotterdam, which is where the SLT Arena Games Powered by Zwift started with a spectacular debut event.”
