Ironman will provide live video coverage of 18 events this year through its Facebook Watch page starting with this weekend’s Ironman 70.3 North American Championship in St. George, Utah.

Ironman has confirmed three other events that will be covered this year – the Ironman World Championship in October, the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in September, and next month’s Ironman North American Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The coverage on Facebook Watch will be hosted by Dede Griesbauer, Matt Lieto, Michael Lovato, Paula Newby-Fraser and Greg Welch. The remainder of the coverage schedule will be announced “as the year unfolds.”

This weekend’s race in St. George promises to be a competitive one for both the men and women. Defending champions Holly Lawrence (GBR) and Rudy Von Berg (USA) won’t arrive as the pre-race favorites with five-time Ironman 70.3 world champion Daniela Ryf (SUI) and Lionel Sanders (CAN) in the field.

The deep women’s field also includes the PTO 2020 Championship winner Paula Findlay (CAN), Americans Meredith Kessler and Skye Moench, Sarah Crowley (AUS) and Emma Pallant (GBR), amongst many others.

Sanders and Von Berg will face an equally deep field including Americans Ben Kanute and Ben Hoffman, Bart Aernouts (BEL), Germans Michael Raelert (GER) and Andreas Dreitz, Antony Costes (FRA), Sam Appleton (AUS) and many more, too.

The prize purse for this weekend’s race is US$100,000. You can see the full pro entry list here.
