France’s Arthur Serrieres continued his hot streak with a third win of the season and second in a row at Xterra Switzerland on the weekend, while Italy’s Eleonara Peroncini, the reigning ITU Cross Triathlon world champion, took the women’s race.
Set in beautiful Les Charbonnières, Switzerland, the race featured a 1.5 km swim in Lac Brenet, a two-loop, 27 km bike in the valley followed by a two-lap, 10 km run. Serrieres trailed swim leaders Brian Tetard, Maxim Chane and Julien Buffe by 15 seconds out of the water, and finished the bike a minute behind countryman Chane into T2. On the run, though, there was no stopping Serrieres, who gained back the minute and added another by the time he hit the finish line.

Peroncini from start to finish
When you have the day’s fastest swim, bike and run splits you’re pretty much guaranteed the win, which is exactly the way Eleonora Peroncini’s day went in Swtizerland. After leading out of the waterer she extended her lead to 1:30 off the bike, then opened up even more time on the run, coming across the line almost seven-minutes ahead of runner-up Marta Menditto. Carole Perrot was both the top age-grouper and the final podium finisher after leading Menditto into T2,
