Three days from now, on Sunday Aug. 18, the first edition of Challenge Moscow takes place. The main event, a middle distance triathlon, will take athletes along many iconic landmarks, such as Red Square, the Kremlin, the Moscow River, the Grebnoy Canal and Gorky park. It’s the first time that Challenge Family organizes a race in Russia.

The entire race will take place in the Moscow city center. This is a unique chance to see our beautiful city while you’re swimming, cycling and running”, Elena Krivenkova, head of the Organizing Committee of Challenge Moscow, is quoted in a press release. Challenge Family CEO Jort Vlam adds: “It is wonderful we can organize a new Challenge Family race in this special city, full of history and beautiful architecture. As an athlete, it is perfect when you can combine racing with seeing the world. A beautiful city like Moscow is definitely a bucket list thing for many people.”

Challenge Moscow was originally supposed to take place on Jul. 18 this year, but due to COVID-19 restrictions it was postponed to a later date. The Russian capital is now ready to host hundreds of athletes and provide them with an unforgettable racing experience. However, Challenge Moscow will be an Age Group only event this year, as travel restrictions make it hard for foreign athletes to reach Moscow.

There will be live updates and timing available during the race via the Challenge Family website.
