There are only a few days to go until the Xterra European Championship Short Track in Zittau, Germany. The race, taking place on Aug. 20-21, will be broadcast via a Facebook livestream. The short and fast format makes for an exciting race to watch.

“New this year is the adrenaline-filled Xterra Short Track race on Friday afternoon, featuring the sport’s fastest off-roaders going shoulder-to-shoulder in an exciting prelude to Saturday’s full distance showdown,” the organization stated in a press release.

During the short-track race, athletes will swim 400 meters, mountain bike six km over a rough and bumpy road and run 2.6 km. The fastest athletes are expected to complete the race within 30 to 40 minutes. The women’s race kicks off at 15:20 CEST, and the men follow soon after that, at 16:35. The race can be followed via this Facebook livestream.

The short track race will be followed by a traditional Xterra full-distance event on Saturday, featuring a 1,500-m swim, 37 km of mountain biking and a 10-km trail run. All athletes will race both events.
