We could call her ‘Miss South Korea’: after last weekend’s victory in Haeundae, Great Britain’s Beth Potter just won the World Triathlon Cup in Tongyeong. Just like last week, it wasn’t the strongest field of participants at the start, but that didn’t mean Potter could take it easy.
Potter finished in a time of 58:08, having completed 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of biking and 5 kilometers of running. Her compatriot Kate Waugh made it quite exciting, crossing the line just three seconds behind. France’s Sandra Dodet finished third, but was a bit further behind. She crossed the finish line 45 seconds after Potter.
In the men’s race there was a much more surprising winner: Moroccan Jawad Abdelmoula won the race here in 51:43. Italian Alessio Crociani (+9 seconds) and Spaniard Sergio Baxter Cabrera (+10 seconds) completed the podium.
