We reported on the Canada Man/ Woman Xtri event that took place in October this year, and posted this story with some of the spectacular photos from the event. The race normally takes place in July, but was moved to October this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic – the race date coincided with the spectacular colors of the changing leaves in the Eastern Townships region of Quebec.
The beautiful views didn’t make the course any easier, though, even though race organizers had to shorten the swim to 1,500 m and the run to 38 km. The 180 km bike still featured over 2,500 m of climbing and the run course still finished at the observatory at the top of Mont-Megantic, featuring 1,200 m of elevation gain.
Race organizers are producing a video of this year’s race which will be seen in 125 countries around the world. While we wait for that show to appear on our television screens, they’ve provided a teaser video that provides lots of proof that the event is one of the toughest triathlons in the world:
