Anything is Possible, goes the slogan that has made Ironman famous in the triathlon world. And it seems that the franchise has taken its slogan to heart. Something that was unthinkable until now has become a reality today: you can now buy slots for an Ironman World Championship. That is reported by Planeta Triathlon and is based on several triathletes reporting about an email sent by Ironman, apparently in a massive way.

2022 “is going to be a great year, with many ‘firsts’ and great opportunities,” the writing assures. “One of those opportunities we would like to offer to you. Since you were a Gold World Athlete in 2021, we invite you to accept a spot and join us at the 2021 Ironman World Championships presented by the Utah Sports Commission on May 7, 2022.”

As expected, Ironman does not intend to give away the empty places in St. George, but has decided to put them up for sale to any gold athlete who is willing to pay the 1,050 euro registration fee.

This year’s World Championship in St. George will be the first time in history a World Championship won’t take place at Kona.
