Ibiza will welcome the 2023 World Triathlon Multisport Championships between Apr. 29 and May 7 next year. While the Aquathlon and Duathlon events will be hosted in Santa Eulalia, San Antonio will provide athletes with a beautiful location for Cross Triathlon and Cross Duathlon. Ibiza would have already hosted the Multisport Championships in 2022, but that edition was spread onto Targu Mures (Jun. 6-12) and Samorin (Aug. 18-21) instead.

The World Triathlon Multisport Championships were first introduced in 2017, when they were hosted in Penticton, Canada. In the next years, Fyn (Denmark) and Pontevedra (Spain) followed. In 2020 the event was supposed to take place during Challenge Almere (The Netherlands), but it was cancelled due to COVID-19. In 2021 Almere ended up hosting the Long Distance and Aquabike race, whereas the Duathlon World Championships were organized in Aviles (Spain) and the Cross Triathlon event in El Anillo (Spain).

“The Multisport World Championships has been one of our most successful events in the last few years since we launched this product, and I am sure that the perfect combination of welcoming people, great weather conditions and stunning scenarios combining pristine beaches with wonderful nature will be a great setting for the Ibiza Multisport World Championships”, World Triathlon President, Marisol Casado, said.
