It’s a great day for French triathlon fans, as the World Championships Cross Triathlon in Romania just saw an all-French podium in the men’s race. Arthur Serrieres won the race. In the women’s race, Italy’s Sandra Mairhofer was too strong for her competitors.

After a 1-kilometer swim, 26.2 kilometers of mountain biking and 7 kilometers of running over a tough course, Serrieres took the win in a time of 2:01:01. His compatriot Felix Forissier eventually finished second, 1:26 minute behind the winner. His brother Arthur Forissier completed the French party and finished third, 2:28 minutes behind the winner.

In the women’s race it was an almost perfect Italian party, as Sandra Mairhofer won the race in 2:22:03 and her compatriot Marta Menditto crossed the line second at 1:28 minute behind. Solenne Billouin, however, provided another French medal as she finished third at 4:01 minutes.
