Ben Kanute has definitely made the switch from Short Distance racing to Middle Distance racing in recent years and at the World Championship Ironman 70.3 World Championships he stole the show by making it very difficult for Kristian Blummenfelt and eventually finishing second a spectacular way. This Sunday he will make his debut on the Full Distance during Ironman Arizona.

“Last big workout of the year. Now we sharpen and let it rip! Not sure what Ironman Arizona has in store for me, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and all the suffering that comes with it”, he posted some days ago.

US athletes, Sam Long, Matt Hanson and Chris Leiferman, will challenge for a podium spot along with Great Britain’s Joe Skipper and South Africa’s Kyle Buckingham. A stacked field of pro females will include American athletes Sarah True, Skye Moench, and Lauren Brandon, who will go up against Canada’s Jen Annett, Australia’s Renee Kiley and many more.

The event also sees Mike Reilly, aka the ‘Voice of Ironman’, calling his final North America event of his career.
