Ironman California to remain in Sacramento until 2028

Ironman California (press release)

Ironman and Visit Sacramento have reached a five-year agreement to keep the Ironman California triathlon in Sacramento, California, until 2028. The race is set to take place on October 22, 2023, and is expected to attract around 3,000 athletes. As the only full-distance IM in the state, the event has already sold out general registration for the 2023 edition, but limited entries are still available through The IM Foundation.

Sacramento, the state capital of California, offers an ideal setting for the event, with its rich history, landmarks, museums, and farm-to-fork dining scene. The city boasts a Mediterranean climate, making it perfect for outdoor activities and fostering an active community.

Visit Sacramento President & CEO Mike Testa expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that Ironman aligns perfectly with Sacramento’s commitment to excellence and providing an unforgettable experience. The collaboration aims to bring athletes, families, and fans to the city for years to come.
