As the season slowly but surely draws to a close, Britain’s Annabel Morton and Italy’s Samuele Angelini are both welcoming a very nice victory. Today both athletes won the Europe Triathlon Cup Yenisehir
The race covered 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling and 5 kilometers of running and the differences were – of course – extremely small. In the women’s race, Morton needed 9:59 minutes for her swim, 30:02 minutes for her bike and 17:15 minutes for her run. That brought her overall time to 58:29, exactly four seconds faster than runner-up Franka Rust of Germany. Julia Bröcker, also from Germany, was third, finishing 21 seconds after the winner.
The men’s race was mainly defined by lightning-fast running times, with two men – including winner Angelini – breaking the 15-minutes barrier. In the end, Angelini’s finish time was 52:13 minutes, leaving him two seconds ahead of Briton Marcus Dey. Frenchman Louis Vitiello finished third in 52:19.
