The PTO has to lick its wounds, because after World Triathlon and Europe Triathlon last week already corrected the organization when they pompously announced the European Championship Middle Distance Championships – which would be organized during the PTO European Tour on Ibiza – it now appears that the European Championships will not take place on the Spanish island, but in Coimbra, Portugal. The European Championship OD has also been announced: it will take place in Vichy, France. In both cases the PTO has nothing to do with the organization.
The European Championship Middle Distance in Coimbra is part of the EC Multisport; in the same week (June 14-23, 2024) EC’s Aquabike, Aquathlon, Cross Duathlon and Cross Triathlon will also be organized. The European Championships OD, thus taking place in Vichy, will take place on Sept. 21-22, 2024.
The European Championship Long Distance had previously been assigned to Challenge Almere-Amsterdam and will take place on September 14, 2024.
