The watch was shown to the press yesterday and announced worldwide today: Polar is presenting a successor to the Polar Grit X Pro, launching the Polar Grit X2 Pro from April. This watch, which Polar claims is the most premium outdoor smartwatch within its own line, is available for pre-order immediately.

“This watch is perfect for anyone who wants to explore more of the world. The Polar Grit X2 Pro offers advanced navigation tools, including offline maps, dual-frequency GPS, as well as all the training, recovery and sleep tracking features Polar is known for. From snow-capped peaks to sun-drenched trails, the Polar Grit X2 Pro lets you explore the world around you as well as your own physical limits.”

Compared to the recently launched Polar Vantage V3, the Grit X2 Pro focuses perhaps even more on the outdoor sports enthusiast, including trail runners and extreme sports enthusiasts. Of course, that also includes triathletes. “The stylish, rugged design combined with superior technology makes it suitable for all conditions. Like its predecessor, the Polar Grit X2 Pro is designed with an AMOLED touchscreen display, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass and a front casing made of high-quality stainless steel.”

“Science, precision and perseverance are the values embodied by our Grit X Pro watches that have long been popular with military personnel, firefighters and those who train under the most demanding conditions,” explained Sander Werring, CEO of Polar Electro. “With the Polar Grit X2 Pro, we’ve taken that precision, durability and design to the next level, with accessible biosensing and sports features so everyone can explore their own abilities and those of the world around them with confidence and in style.”

The Polar Grit X2 Pro’s bets include significantly improved GPS functionality, navigation and routing tools, even better battery life (up to 140 hours, ed.) and Polar Elixir, which should provide even better wrist heart rate readings.

The Polar Grit X2 Pro will be available for pre-orders at polar.com from March 2 to April 2. From April 3, sales will begin on all regular sales channels. There are two colors to choose from: Night Black or Stone-Gray and the watch has a suggested retail price of 749.90 euros. Fans can also choose the Grit X2 Pro Titan in Autmn Leather and Black Silicone; these models have a new price of 869.90 euros.
