During Ironman Texas it was already visible that there was some drafting within the pro race, but Age Groupers made it even worse. Various images online show that sometimes entire groups with dozens of athletes passed by. The race was more like an average Tour de France stage than a triathlon where everyone has to bike individually.
The pro race was won by Tomas Rodriguez Hernandez and Kat Matthews.
