France is getting a new Ironman 70.3, as the first Ironman 70.3 Tours-Métropole will be held on June 1, 2025. With the arrival of the new race, which is just announced, France now has no less than seven Ironman races on its calendar.
Ironman 70.3 Tours-Métropole is completely flat and takes place in the Loire region. There is a 1,900-meter swim in the Cher, connected to the Loire River. The bike course – one lap of 90 kilometers – is totally flat and winds along the banks of the Cher and past several historic castles, including the Chateau d’Ussé, said to have inspired the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty. Finally, two more laps must be run, including through the Honoré de Balzac park. The running course is also mostly flat.
