Better be safe than sorry: where the triathlon world has been struggling for years with fake accounts (especially on Facebook, ed.) that try to persuade people to click on links for fake livestreams – in most cases to try to steal credit card information – even former PTO ‘Head of Communications’ Jane Hansom, nowadays responsible within the ‘broadcast team’ of the organization, seems unaware of this. She blithely refers on her own social media channels to the fake links for the T100 Las Vegas, which takes place later today.
Hansom, associated with the PTO for years and, as mentioned, not in the least functions, writes on her socials: ‘Tune in for some exciting racing today’ along with links to fake livestreams. This is all the more striking since the PTO is fully committed to its own livestream, but employees apparently don’t know where you can actually follow the race.
