Incredible large pro field prepares to battle at Challenge Mallorca

It is one of the most popular races to end the European season – both among Age Groupers and professional athletes – and this year is no different: no less than one hundred pros will start this Saturday at Challenge Mallorca, and the organization already had to decide weeks ago not to add any more professional athletes.

Big spectacle is to be expected for sure, because not the least names are traveling to the Spanish island to battle for the win. Biggest names among the men include Tom Hug, Thomas Bishop and Jonathan Brownlee, while athletes like Ognjen Stojanovic, Jonathan Wayaffe and Miki Taagholt are considered some very dangerous outsiders.

Among the women, the most watched athletes are Lisa Norden and Alanis Siffert, who recently finished second at Challenge Almere-Amsterdam. In addition, Daniela Kleiser, Rebecca Robisch, Elisabetta Curridori and Justine Guerard are seen as dangerous outsiders.

Edit: the day after writing this article, it became clear that Jonathan Brownlee isn’t able to start in Mallorca.
