As every year, we also close 2024 with an overview of the most popular articles. Good to know: popularity in this case is measured by the amount of clicks. In other words: the top twenty articles that you see passing by between now and New Year’s Eve were the most read on Triathlon Today this year.
We have enjoyed a year of wonderful achievements. Many of those accomplishments come to pass. But of course much more happened. Today we kick off with articles 20 and 19.

It was a big shock when Lucy Charles-Barclay, only some months after winning her first Ironman World Title at Kona, announced she would not race the Ironman World Championships in Nice.

Everyone saw well in advance that the Seine would not be clean enough for the Olympics. In the end, the start of the Olympic races was cancelled or postponed a few times, athletes turned out to be sick afterwards, and so the chaos was complete. But World Triathlon caused a surprise by posting a statement in which it indicated that the bad weather was an unforeseen game changer.
