Starting up your gps-watch, finding a blue triangle on the screen and then being unable to do anything: Garmin users are dreading it, after the problem occurred en masse to a lot of people worldwide in recent days. A solution that works for everyone is not yet available.
The software problem Garmin is facing affects several models of watches, although the brand itself does not specify exactly which models are affected. According to U.S. media, the models affected include the Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2), Fenix 7 and 8, Forerunner 165, 255, 265, 955 and 965, Vivoactive 5, Venu 2 and 2, Lily 2 and Lily 2 Active, Marq Commander (Gen 2) and Edge 1040. Online thousands of users are publishing stories about the same problem. For them, their sports watch seems totally unusable for the time being. Logically, Garmin announced that it is working on a solution.
The problem was named the ‘blue triangle of death’ because that was the only thing users could see on their watch. The problem seems to occur when users try to start a sports activity on their watch. For other users, the watch remains stuck in the startup screen.
