World-famous British popstar Harry Styles competed in the Tokyo Marathon this weekend and he finished the 42.2 kilometers in a very respectable time. Particularly striking was how steady Style was running: he ran his first half marathon in 1:42:03 and the second half marathon in 1:42:04, to finish in a total time of 3:24:07.

The 31-year-old singer – who ran on Nike Vaporflys – logically attracted a lot of attention during the marathon. He ended up finishing 6010th out of nearly 38,000 participants. Although Styles is more often spotted running in the cities where he performs, it was not known that he was training for, let alone participating in a marathon.

Styles was a member of the British boy band One Direction for many years. In 2017, he released his first solo album. In the following years, he scored hits with songs such as As It Was, Watermelon Sugar and What Makes You Beautiful.
