When the revamped Triathlon World Tour was announced late last year-bringing both the T100 and T50 (formerly WTCS) together – it was still a waiting game to see where the Finals of the new T50 series would take place. That location was revealed today: Hamburg.

On paper, Hamburg was already the most logical choice, primarily because the German city boasts a rich history of hosting Short Distance final events in the form of WTCS races, and previously ITU and WTS. For context, last year’s WTCS Grand Final was held in Wollongong, Australia, while this year’s will take place in Pontevedra, Spain.

The T50 Finals in Hamburg will take place next year from September 8 to 12, where the very first T50 world champions will be crowned. According to Antonio Arimany, President of World Triathlon, this marks “the most exciting chapter in the history of the sport.”
