World Triathlon has found a new date for WTCS Abu Dhabi and will organize the event in November. The race was originally scheduled to take place last March as the season opener for short-distance specialists, but the war in the Middle East forced the organizer to postpone the event until further notice.
WTCS Abu Dhabi will now take place on Friday, November 13 (both the men’s and women’s individual races) and Saturday, November 14 (Mixed Team Relay). With these dates, the WTCS will also immediately become part of the World Triathlon Multisport Championships, which is scheduled from November 14 to 22 on Hudayriyat Island. WTCS Abu Dhabi will no longer count toward this year’s WTCS standings – as the Grand Final is already in September – but it will still offer Olympic points for the qualification pathway toward Los Angeles 2028.
