It certainly helped that Alanis Siffert won the Alpe d’Huez Triathlon with dominant force last week and that by T2 it was already clear there was little threat from behind, but the Swiss top athlete experienced a very bizarre transition. Upon entering T2, she took a wrong turn and decided to jump over other athletes’ spots – bike and all – to get to her own bike rack. The officials were not amused, so the Swiss athlete had to run back, once again with her bike, to where she had entered the transition zone. From there, she turned around again to run via the correct route back to her rack. You can watch the footage below:
