We wrote about the large start list of Challenge Salou before, but in the meanwhile more impressive names have been added to the list. Among them, the names of world champion Kristian Hogenhaug (DEN), Ironman world champion Anne Haug (GER), short-distance talent Vincent Luis (FRA) and Nicola Spirig (SWI).
There are currently 73 names on the start list, of which 49 are men. Besides Hogenhaug and Luis, Belgium’s Pieter Heemeryck will be racing, just like Germany’s Jan Stratmann, Australia’s Adam Hansen, Germany’s Paul Schuster, Denmark’s Miki Taagholt, Sweden’s Patrik Nilsson, Britain’s Thomas Davis and Britain’s Sam Wade. Germany’s Patrick Lange also planned to kick off his season in Spain, but he had to withdraw due to an injury that he sustained after a bike crash while training on Gran Canaria.
In the women’s race, Haug and Spirig are likely the biggest favorites for the win, but Sweden’s Lisa Norden, Britain’s India Lee, Germany’s Carolin Lehrieder, Germany’s Daniela Bleymehl, Belgium’s Alexandra Tondeur and Britain’s Fenella Langridge will give it their all to try and claim the highest podium spot too.
