She’s only eighteen years old, but Tilda Mansson is one to watch. The Swedish athlete just ran to an incredible win at the World Triathlon Cup in Bergen. Running 16:32 minutes over 5000 meters, Mansson managed to stay ahead of Belgium’s Jolien Vermeylen (+0:01) and Britain’s Kate Waugh (+0:06).

The Mexican Lizeth Rueda Santos pulled off a strong swim part, which saw her take off on her own after this first discipline. Eight seconds later, a big group followed, which would later unite during the bike part, among them Vermeylen. Mansson was a bit behind at this point, about 30 seconds. That didn’t stop her from joining the front group, though. Impressively, Mansson managed to ride to the front once she jumped in the saddle. About 20 athletes formed a lead group.

Once they got to start the run, Mansson and Vermeylen sprinted off. The two delivered a spectacular battle, which eventually saw Mansson take off with the win. Only a second later, Vermeylen claimed second place, while Waugh rounded the podium.
