Building on its partnership with Challenge Family, Rouvy has rolled out its first-ever triathlon virtual route in 360°. The Championship in Samorin, Slovakia, is one of Challenge Family’s most popular events. Leveraging Rouvy’s freshly released OmniMode via the Rouvy indoor cycling app, provides athletes with improved features and a 360° range of views of the event to create a more immersive cycling experience.
Samorin is a small town on the Danube River with 800 years’ history and a rich tradition of sport. Challenge Family’s The Championship has taken place at the x-bionic sphere sports resort in Samorin since 2017. The 45km of the race course on Rouvy showcases landscapes of the Slovakian countryside in a 360° video panorama view.
The new functionality adds rear camera views, panoramic views , ‘whip-pan fly around’ and an improved elevation profile with the elongated course vision. Rouvy notes that it is now possible to ride non-stop in the ‘look back mode’ angle and enjoy the scenery in that position… ‘or see who is riding with you in the back of the virtual peloton or who is about to attack.’
Rouvy adds that the ride experience features more realistic gradients, especially when using high-end bike trainers indoors. OmniMode also enables enhanced levels of interactivity for multi-rider experiences in group rides and races.
To take advantage of all the features of OmniMode, the Rouvy app should be updated to 2.15.0 version (or higher). New athletes are provided with a 14-day free trial experience (no credit card required) and upon buying, one subscription can be shared with two more household members. The apps for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices or Apple TV.
