After Triathlon Today previously had the scoop that Ironman would partially move the World Championship from Kona to Nice – the men’s and women’s race will rotate annually between Kona and Nice – the organization itself has now confirmed the location and date which was publishes by Triathlon Today already.
It took Ironman more than a month for the confirmation that the men’s and women’s will alternate between Kona and Nice at least through 2026. Last month, the organizers were met with thousands of negative comments, mostly from athletes who feel that the World Championships belong and should remain on Kona. In addition, many athletes do not like the fact that the men’s and women’s races will henceforth be separate.
